Acer Rubrum - Fairview Flame - Canadian Red Maple
The name of Acer rubrum 'Fairview Flame' is very much deserved. In autumn, the pyramidal, flame-like shape is lit up in fiery shades of red. The 5 lobed foliage has an attractive, classic Maple shape and is dark green in summer before transforming for its autumn show. Small red flowers and winged fruits add further seasonal interest. This tree will eventually reach 10m 36ft) tall by 7m(22ft) across. Eventual size, approximately, could 8m(26ft) tall by 4m(12ft) across.
Planting Instructions
Can be planted in most soils, preferably a well-drained area. Ideally should be planted in a partially shaded area. The area where you plant the tree should be very wet and ensure you keep the tree well-watered.
