The bloody ploughman is an old variety of apple. The fruit is blood red in appearance with knobbly skin. The flesh is pink when fully ripened and is juicy with a sweet flavour. Although this apple is classified as an dessert / eating apple it is probably more suitable for cooking.
Harvest in September.
Planting Instructions
Bloody Ploughman is in pollination group 3 and is self-fertile so it needs a suitable pollination partner nearby (ideally within 1/2 mile radius). It is not a good pollinator for other apple trees.
Apple trees should be spaced according to their rootstock, MM106 is a vigorous grower and requires approximately 4m(12ft) between trees.
Soak the ground where you are planting the tree prior to planting and ensure you keep it well-watered.
