The "old greengage" is sometimes known as the Old English Greengage. It's considered the best flavoured gage variety. The fruits are quite small and are a dull green colour, turning slightly yellow when ripe. Good cropper once the tree is fully established.

Self-fertile, but may be planted alongside other plum, damson or gage varieties to ensure best pollination. Best suited to a sheltered, warm site
Gage trees should be spaced approximately 4m(12ft) between trees.
Soak the area where you will be planting this tree and keep the tree well-watered afterwards.
