Fruit is very similar to the Cox's Orange Pippin in appearance, greenish-yellow with orange-red flush. Good sweet flavour, can be used as a cooker as the flavour is quite sharp early season but sweetens the longer fruit remains on the tree.
Harvest between September and early Oct.
Planting Instructions
Charles Ross is in pollination group 3 and is self-fertile so it needs a suitable pollination partner nearby (ideally within 1/2 mile radius).
Apple trees should be spaced according to their rootstock, MM106 is a vigorous grower and requires approximately 4m(12ft) between trees.
Soak the ground where you are planting the tree prior to planting and ensure you keep it well-watered.
