A small tree which is columnar when young and becomes broadly oval with time. Each leaf emerges with a dark green surface and light silvery-grey underside, turning to a brilliant orange in the autumn. Creamy-white flowers with a musky scent appear in late spring, followed by heavy clusters of dark sealing-wax-red berries.
Size after ten years will be approximately 5m(17ft) tall by 4m(12ft) spread.
Planting Instructions
Mountain Ash need a sunny site to grow well.
They will thrive in most soils but can be short-lived on thin chalky soils.
Soak the planting area prior to planting and keep well-watered afterwards to allow the tree to become established.
